I grew up in Pittsburgh, of Italian origin. Hiking and camping contributed to my love of nature, especially astronomy and biology. Though I studied scientific subjects I come from a tradition of painters. Some of my grandfather's works are still to be found in Rovigo, Italy, and my mother was a painter, in Annville, Pennsylvania.
I do natural and wildlife illustration. This allows me to combine my interests and background in the natural sciences and the fine arts. I do portraits as well as scientific illustration.
I have contributed illustrations for various publications such as "The Complete Capuchin", Cambridge University Press, and series of books by Il Mulino. I have held shows in New York, Milan (La Barchetta), Anticoli Corrado (Museo Civico di Arte Moderna) and various galleries in Rome.
I also do photography and paint (human) portraits.
Below in the first picture is my faithful friend, Charm, found abandoned in Sardinia. In the next picture is one of myself with him. The third picture is SuSy, who passed away with cancer a few years ago. The next two are insect photographs I took with my small digital camera, and the last is a drawing of my niece and her little brother.
